Moonglu Race Team is comprised of six riders based across the North of England, predominantly in Yorkshire. According to team manager, John Reeve,
“Our longevity is as important as our growth - we want to build a platform that enables bike riders to realise their potential, affording younger riders the opportunities they deserve - helping them navigate the complex world of racing”.
The team is unique in that the riders all contributed to the development and success of the team across logistics, social media, kit design and general development.
Speaking on their plans for the event, John Reeve said
“We are targeting a variety of national events this year, trying to use our willingness to work as a team to our advantage - hopefully gaining results and hitting goals as a group, as well as on an individual level - all while enjoying the process. We're excited to get out there, have some fun in the races together and see how we stack up against the big boys.”

The team has started the season strongly, with Will Taylor on particularly good form, winning and podiuming at a national level in the UK. The team also adopts a unique approach within sport, prioritising environmentally friendly practices and mitigating the team's overall emissions. ‘The Rás’ will be the team's first Irish race, although members of the team have raced in Rás Mumhan and Tour of the North in the past.
Speaking about their debut in the event, Race Director Ger Campbell said,
“We are delighted to welcome Team Moonglu to the 2024 event. The team follows a unique model, with rider and planet well-being as important as results. Cairde The Rás Tailteann is similarly trying to be environmentally conscious and keep our footprint as low as possible, so Team Moonglu seemed like a perfect fit for the event. We cannot wait to see what the group can bring to the event!”
